Monthly Tours at Sage Mountain Center

Feel like an adventure into the mountains of Montana to see solar electricity, solar hot water, wind generation, straw bale/cordwood building technologies, and an environment designed to nurture the spirit? Sage Mountain Center is offering free tours of its facility on the second Sunday of every month. Tours start at 1:00 pm and last two hours. No reservations required (although a map and, if the weather is foul, a four- wheel-drive may be needed).

Advanced PV Online Course

Learn more about designing and installing an NEC code compliant solar electric (photovoltaic) power system without leaving your home. A six-week, Internet-based, online course of instruction with text, online reference materials and Internet resource links. This course provides 60 cumulative hours of training, that may be used towards NABCEP certification.

Wind Farm Design and Introduction to GH WindFarmer

Wind Farm Design is a one-day course designed to introduce professionals to the principles of wind farm design and optimisation using state of the art design tools. An integrated course leading through the complete process from an understanding of wind flow to optimisation and visualisation. GH WindFarmer also is a one-day course that aims to give beginners a basic understanding of the software, its functionality, main calculation abilities, and usability. This is achieved through a day of hands-on guided use of the software, incorporating example cases. It builds on the Wind Farm Design course the day before, taking the methodologies discussed and applying them.

Photovoltaic Design for Engineers & Designers: A 3-Day Course on Producing PV Design Documents
June 9-11, 2008

This workshop is for design professionals on the skills needed to produce high-quality PV system designs, feasibility reports, drawings and specifications that are currently in high demand by architectural design teams, engineering firms, developers, and discerning property owners. This class covers grid-tied PV systems. Off-grid system design and bulk power plants for remote distribution are not covered.
